And so it begins...

And so it begins...

I feel like I should introduce ourselves because I always love to support businesses where I feel like I know the brand and the owners. So, HEY THERE! My name is Miranda and my husband Jim and I are proud to have started The Rustic Silo.

Jim and I have been together for 27 years as we were best friends for four years and then began dating in high school. We have four beautiful children (Evan, Dylan Austin and Brooklyn) and 2 dogs, 3 cats and a turtle! So say we are busy is an understatement, but I love it that way. Here we are at 17... who knew what life had in store for us at the time.

Young and married, we struggled just like any other couple. We had babies right away and life jumped into action. I went into teaching and Jim went into public utilities. We never really had a knack for decorating or the money to make our house feel like a home, but we made due. Our forever home landed on the exact street and across the street from Jim's childhood home and the street we ultimately fell in love. Silo Drive.

Fast forward to the last few years, I really found enjoyment in home decor, design and rustic farmhouse style. We slowly over the last 5 - 10 years have made our house a home. We have renovated, built and and transitioned our house I got he rustic farmhouse feel we’ve always wanted. As I would shop for different decor pieces for the house, I would point to something and say, “isn’t this cute?”, and Jim would inevitably respond with, “I can build that! You can design it, I can build it”. This happened often. Rinse. Repeat. I would eyeroll him and buy it anyways, but in reality, he was RIGHT! Until one day he said, “We can make that” and I responded… “so let’s do it!”

And so The Rustic Silo was born.

Named after our love of rustic farmhouse decor and the silo that peeks out through the trees at the end If the street Jim grew up on, the street we fell in love, and the street we now reside.

So if you’ve read this far… Thank you!!

We’re SO glad you’re here.
